Leshoure & Wilson announcing draft plans Tuesday






Illinois running back Mikel Leshoure will return to the place where it all started to announce his decision to enter the NFL draft.

Leshoure has scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Centennial HIgh School. He will also meet with media in Chicago later Tuesday afternoon. Leshoure was a two-time News-Gazette All-Stater with the Chargers.

Leshoure isn't the only junior turning pro early, Illinois linebacker Martez Wilson will also give up his final year of eligibility.

Illini sports information director Kent Brown told The Associated Press on Monday that Wilson has filed paperwork to enter the draft.



Wilson led Illinois with 112 tackles this season. The News-Gazette All-Stater fro Chicago Simeon graduate also had four sacks and an interception in the kind of season Illinois has been waiting for since he came to Champaign in 2007.

Leshoure broke school for season rushing yards, points and touchdowns. He finished his Illinois career tied for sixth on the school's rushing list.

The players have gone through the evaluation process offered to potential early draft entrants. The results of those evaluations have not been announced.
