This was one large reason I graduated high school she made it hard for me but I thank her for it, Thank you Elsie M. Engelhaupt.


Elsie M. Engelhaupt, 77, of Peru, formerly of Champaign, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 9, 2011) at Manor Court of Peru.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Zion United Church of Christ, Peru, with the Rev. Gary Stillwell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.
Ms. Engelhaupt was born on June 9, 1933, in Ladd, to Fred and Matilda (Nothnagel) Engelhaupt.
She received a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and her master's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She began teaching at Peoria Richwoods and taught the majority of her career at Champaign Centennial High School.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators and was previously active in the Champaign Republican County Party Organization.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elmer Engelhaupt; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ella (Engelhaupt) and Wes Baker.
Pallbearers will be Randy Fouth, Gary Fouth, Garrett Fouth and Dave Flaherty.
Memorials may be directed to Zion United Church of Christ in Peru.
