Don’t Like The T-Mobile & ATT Merger It’s Time To Let The FCC Know What You Think

It is finally our turn to let the FCC know our feelings about the AT&T/T-Mobile merger. The FCC has announced that they are now open to hearing what we, the consumers, think regarding the acquisition of T-Mobile by AT&T.
It is fairly easy to voice your opinion and you don’t even need to move from where you are at. Just simply go to the FCC’sElectronic Comment Filing System, look for docket number 11-65 and click on it, and then fill out the information along with how you feel regarding the merger between the two largest GSM carriers. Whether you are for or against the merger it is important and time to say how you feel.
Here are some of the issues that many people see happening if the merger goes through:
  • A lack of competition resulting in fewer GSM carriers
  • Larger carriers may result in increased prices
  • Both carriers’ 4G HSPA+ bands are incompatible, which causes risk in the loss of coverage for T-Mobile handsets once AT&T LTE starts rolling out
  • Only one major carrier will be buying GSM handsets which means they control the GSM devices that make it to the U.S. market
Those are only some of the issues we could be faced with when it comes to the merger of AT&T and T-Mobile. As of right now there seems to be close to a hundred fillings regarding the merger. Join these people and make your voice heard regarding why you agree or disagree with the merger.
